LEG3 Heading North out of Kanchanaburi and into Nakhonsawan, which is the longest SS in AXCR history with 209.10 km in distance.
First half of the SS course is full of the tight right turns, head into sugar plantations full of old dry rivers, and through small villages with three major cautions. The SSH finish with high-speed asphalt with yet more tight corners!
Weather compare on the first day are on the hotter side, but with scatter thunder showers at the end of the day.
Short summary report on 2 wheels today, with #2 positions Yoshio IKEMACHI (JPN/KTM 350 EXC-F) taking the lead on the first half of the race, ahead of #1 positions Jakkrit CHAWTALE (THA/KTM 350 EXC-F) however, both rider getting lost in the second half of the course, they both finish quite close to each other,The 8 minute lead has now shrunk to just 4 minute lead.
In third position, rider #19 Eiji SUGIYAMA (JPN/HONDA CRF250 Rally) finish 22 minutes behind, 4th position Tadao EZURE (JPN/YAMAHA YZ450FX) finish 45 minutes behind from the top group. and the 5th position riders finish with hour and a half gap.
The top two team had shorten their gap distance from 8 minutes difference down to just 3 and half seconds. Biggest change at this stage, 6th position ♯108 Takuma AOKI (Toyota Fortuner) moved up to 4th place, while the original 4th place holder ♯106 Wichawat (Thai Isuzu Mu X) drop down to 6th position.
The final maker ranking at this point Toyota, Isuzu, Isuzu, Isuzu, Toyota, Toyota, looks like the close fight will endure throughout tomorrow.
Both Toyota and Isuzu are fighting hard not only at the AXCR rally race, but also in the show room Thai marketplace. Toyota Fortuner, Hilux, battle with Isuzu Mu X, D-Max, all 4 door pickup / SUV. This made the stakes could not be even more higher for both maker, while bring in further excitement to this years AXCR race.
