Today is the day we have the last SS in Thailand, all the racer and convoy will cross Thai boarder into Cambodia. liaison distance 350.39km with a short 80 Km SS, expected much simpler navigation in LEG4, all participants seems to be able to relax a bit, but not for all of course.

When asked the organizer Mr. Sasa, on his thoughts of the SS difference between Thailand & Cambodia, his direct simple reply is that; Thailand have more population in the country side villages, which have more cross roads. In compare to Cambodia where population is less dense, where roads are open with much less enter sections, its a complete different type of challenges.

When the start of the SS, MOTO went without any issues, but when AUTO all gathered and ready to start, unfortunately official had no choice but to cancelled, due to discovery of an unsafe bridges in the SS route.

MOTO

From riders review of today, the route started on fluffy white sand, later lead into narrow forest roads. The short SS made most rider able to enjoy much more than usual, able to recover from yesterday longest hard pushing. When riding back on the liaison, most rider welcome the rare smooth pave roads, as if you were touring in the country side of Hokkaido Japan.

Although yesterday top 4 riders time gap was only 7 mminutes different, the top group takes advantage of the short SS, pull away as quickly and much as they can.

Last years sidecars competitors return to this years AXCR, with a another team on the same Russian made Ural sidecar. These sidecars are actually 2 wheel drive, with the rear wheel and the sidecar wheel both power the entire sidecar forward, making it more effective off roading.

Which is why are being chosen by these 2 Japanese teams, for both enjoying the harsh SS off road, and the fun liaison on road. If the continuation increase of this class participants, organizer definitely will be happy to create an individual sidecar class. Highly recommend for sidecar enthusiasts around the world, come and join the challenge.
